All MDS familes joining the studio during the Spring 2017 term are required to pay a $20 NON-REFUNDALBE Spring Annual Registration Fee that covers the immediate family for the Spring 2017 and Summer 2017 terms.  Please click the PAY NOW button below to pay your Registration FEE today.

Below are a few highlights/guidelines for classes. To read more detailed description and further information about classes, check out our website Class Page HERE.


A NON-REFUNDABLE Annual Registration Fee (one per family) of $30 is due EACH FALL when you enroll in classes at Morgantown Dance Studio. This registration fee MUST be paid to reserve your dancer’s space in a class or classes and may be paid by cash, check, or credit card at the studio, or paid online through PayPal by clicking on the PAY BUTTON on our Registration Page. This registration fee covers your immediate family for the Fall 2016, Spring 2017, and Summer 2017 dance terms.  If you join classes during the Spring term, the Fee is pro-rated to $20.  If you don’t join until the Summer term, the Fee is pro-rated to $10.


The Fall 2016 Term will begin on Monday, August 29, 2016 and will end on Tuesday, December 20, 2016

The Spring 2017 Term will begin on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 and will end on Saturday, May 13, 2017


PLEASE NOTE:
There will be likely be NO classes during a Brief Spring Break.

There will be NO classes during Tech Week for our production of CINDERELLA (March 27th – April 2nd).  Classes will resume on a regular schedule on Monday, April 3rd.


ALL OF THE AGES LISTED FOR CLASSES ARE GUIDELINES AND ARE NOT STRICTLY ADHERED TO IF THE INSTRUCTOR BELIEVES THE DANCER’S TALENT AND ABILITY PLACES THEM IN A DIFFERENT LEVEL THAN THAT IDENTIFIED BY THE DANCER’S AGE ONLY. NOTES FOR FOUNDATIONS CLASSES
Age Requirements for Foundations Classes (AGES 2-7 YEARS OLD):
GROWN-UP & ME: Students should be age 2 on or before September 1, 2016.
Foundations Level I classes: Students should be age 3 on or BEFORE September 1, 2016.
Foundations Level II classes: Students should be age 5 on or BEFORE September 1, 2016.

Foundations classes are developed as full-year programs that continue to build from the Fall into the Spring.

Those students who start out as 3 & 4 year olds in Foundations Level I classes become leaders in these classes as 4 & 5 year olds. Those students who start out as 5 & 6 year olds in Foundations Level II classes become leaders in these classes as 6 & 7 year olds.

NOTES FOR IRISH CLASSES
Beginning Irish: For dancers ages 7 & up with no experience or less than 1 year experience.
Intermediate Irish: For dancers ages 7-11 with more than 1 year experience.
Advanced Irish: Dancers ages 12 & up with more than 1 year experience or teacher’s recommendation.
Hardshoe: Dancers ages 10 & up with at least 1 year of experience/teacher’s recommendation.

NOTES ABOUT PLACEMENT CLASSES
All MDS dancers, ages 7 & up, are required to attend placement classes for Ballet, Pointe, Acroflex, Irish, Jazz, Modern, and Tap.
If you/your dancer has not been placed by MDS instructors, please email mtowndance@gmail.com to set up a placement class.

NOTES ABOUT BALLET CLASSES
Beginner’s Ballet is for those students who have little to no ballet experience, for those who want to work on the basics of ballet technique, or for those who want to take a class for the fun and exercise offered by the art of ballet.
Please pay attention to Ballet Level Designation when you are choosing the classes to register. Our ballet levels are listed below:
Foundations of Ballet I (ages 3-5) – Pink Skirted Leotard
Foundations of Ballet II (ages 5-7) – Black Skirt Leotard
Beginner’s Ballet – Maroon/Burgandy Belt
PD I Ballet – White Belt
PD II Ballet – Yellow Belt
Ballet I – Pale Pink Belt
Ballet I/II – Lilac Belt
Ballet II – Pale Blue Belt
Ballet II/III – Magenta/Dark Pink Belt
Ballet III – Royal Blue Belt
Ballet III/IV – Red Belt
Ballet IV – Teal Belt
Ballet IV/V – Purple Belt

NOTES ON TUITION AND FEES
The cost of tuition is based on $13 per hour of instruction. The Fall term lasts for 14 weeks. Students cannot register for individual classes, but can attend some classes (NOT FOUNDATIONS CLASSES) as a drop-in student by paying ($15 per hour) the night of the class or by pre-purchasing a dance card ($14 per hour) for anticipated drop-in classes. Dance cards are good to be redeemed for 1 year from the date of purchase. You may only drop-in to a class that is NOT FULL.

EXAMPLES
For registered students, a 30 minute class will cost $7 per class/$117 per semester
a 45 minute class will cost $10 per class/$176 per semester
a 1 hour class will cost $13 per class/$234 per semester
a 1 hour, 15 minute class will cost $16 per class/$293 per semester
a 1 hour, 30 minute class will cost $20 per class/$351 per semester
a 1 hour, 45 minute class will cost $23 per class/$410 per semester

For students with a Dance Card, a 30 minute class will cost $7
a 45 minute class will cost $11
a 1 hour class will cost $14
a 1 hour, 15 minute class will cost $18
a 1 hour, 30 minute class will cost $21
a 1 hour, 45 minute class will cost $25

For Drop-In students, a 30 minute class will cost $8
a 45 minute class will cost $11
a 1 hour class will cost $15
a 1 hour, 15 minute class will cost $19
a 1 hour, 30 minute class will cost $23
a 1 hour, 45 minute class will cost $26

College/University students will receive a 10% class discount off total term tuition

Current/former military students/families will receive a 10% discount off total term tuition

Students/families signing up for multiple hours may receive discounts based on the number of hours taken

ALL NEW FAMILIES registering for Spring classes will pay a $20 Non-refundable Annual Registration Fee that covers the immediate family for the Spring 2017 and Summer 2017 dance terms. This registration fee must be PAID IN FULL no later than the first day of the dancer’s class to secure the dancer’s spot in each class.

NOTES ON PAYMENT OPTIONS

Please choose a payment option that best fits your needs.

An account that is paid in full by the end of the 3rd week of classes will receive a 5% discount of total tern tuition

Spring Tuition can be divided into the following payment options:
– One (1) payment PAID IN FULL no later than Saturday, January 21, 2017
– Two (2) payments (January & March)
– Three (3) payments (January, March & May)
– Four (4) payments (January, February, March, & April)

A payment is due by the first of each month prior to taking classes.

If your payment is late, a 10% late fee will be assessed.

You may choose to pay by cash, check, or credit/debit card at the Studio, or you may choose to receive and pay online by PayPal invoice(s) using a credit/debit card or a PayPal account.
