Meredith Ballard
Meredith Ballard is a WVU Dance Major who will graduate with her B.A. in Dance, in May of 2026. She studied dance for 9 years in Martinsburg, West Virginia at Tari Jo’s Dance Studio, and was a member of the Martinsburg High School Velocity Dance Team from 2020-2022. She has studied a variety of styles including ballet, pointe, modern, jazz, tap, hip-hop, lyrical, contemporary, acro, and Kathak. She is currently on the executive board of the WVU Student Dance Association, serving as the History Chair. While also holds the position of President-Elect on the WVU NHSDA (National Honors Society of Dance Arts at WVU) Board. Meredith has performed at Celebration of Dance, Dance Now!, and the Spring Showcase for the past two years. Choreographing her first collegiate piece in this past Spring Showcase (2024) titled, My Grandmother’s Last Smile. In 2023 she attended the Joffrey Jazz & Contemporary Intensive in Las Vegas, Nevada; where she trained amongst many profound choreographers and professors. In addition, she attended the ACDA (American College Dance Association) Mid-Atlantic South Conference in 2023 & 2024. She performed each year in student pieces brought by WVU to be adjudicated and for both years, both dances received the honor of being invited to perform in the conference’s final gala. Also attending the NDEO (National Dance Education Organization) National Conference in Denver, Colorado, in 2023; accompanied by peers and Yoav Kaddar who is the director of the WVU Dance Program and president of NDEO.
